Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

St. Xavier Parish Home Page
Brother and sisters, the Holy Spirit draws us together on this sacred day to hear words that are at the center of our Christian belief. As this Mass begins, let us pray that we will take these words to heart, for they have the power to transform not only our lives; they have the power to transform our world.
If you want to be like God, Jesus says, then love your enemies. Don't expect prepayment of loans. Give to every beggar. If someone steals from you, hand the person even more. That is what God does. In showing selfless compassion to others, we are living according to our true nature, created in the likeness of God. These are challenging words. We need the strenght that comes only from God in order to embrace them. As the word of God is proclaimed, let us as God to strengthen us in our commitment to follow Christ.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women and men of many faith traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer on the first Friday in March each year. Throughout the day, we collectively pray all over the world, beginning with the first sunrise and ending at the last sunset. Our prayers follow the sun's path around the globe.
Come join with us in prayer on Friday, March 2nd at 1:30 pm at the First Southern Baptist Church at 1220 W. 8th. If you come around to the back of the church to the lower parking lot you can come right into the room where we will be praying.
Link of the Month: May You Be Blessed. Gratitude of your life starts with a breathe. Be Thankful to God for your breathe.
