Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist and it's Vigil
June 24th, 2007
St. Xavier Parish Home Page
Today God gathers us together to celebrate the birth of St. John the Baptist. During the course of the liturgical years, when certain feasts fall on a Sunday, we set aside our usual calendar of ordinary Sundays and focus on a particular feast. Today is such a day. John the Baptist was the forerunner of Christ. He prepared the way for the Lord. As we remember with joy the birth of this remarkable figure, let us pray that we, like John the Baptist, will lead others to Christ.
We welcome to the Christian Community Keira Michelle Jones, child of Kevin and Kathleen; Elijah Carter and Delaney Addison Fawcett, children of Todd and Jessica, who were baptized last weekend. May the loving God be with you all and your families.
We congratulate Emiliano Olvera & Dixie Swecker who were married last Saturday. May your love for one another grow always in the presence of Christ.
IN DEEPEST SYMPATHY
Please remember in your prayers the repose of the Soul of Father Frank Coady's mother. Mrs. Edith Coady passed away last Sunday.
BABY BOTTLES
St. Xavier's Baby Bottle Collection was $1,717.81. The Collection is for Manhattan Branch of Catholic Charities. Thanks so much to all that contributed for your generosity.

Rachel's Vineyard of the Salina Diocese healing the wounds of abortions
"Neither do I condemn you." These are the words Jesus spoke to the women who was dragged through the streets in order to be stoned to death for her sin of adultery. Jesus is saying these words to you too. If you are a woman or a man who has struggled with an abortion decision, if you are a grandparent who has lost a grandchild to abortion, or perhaps even paid for the abortion, if you are a couple who lack intimacy because of an abortion decision, and if you are a former abortion worker or provider, RACHEL'S VINEYARD RETREAT is for you. Come, grieve your loss, allow Jesus to heal your inner wounds and give you peace. Next retreat is August 10-12. For more information call 1-877-1-GRIEVE(1-877-447-4383) or e-mail: rachelsvineyard@salinadiocese.org . All correspondance is confidential.
