Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary TIme

Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time
November 5th, 2006

St. Xavier Parish Home Page

The Spirit of truth gathers us together on this Lord's Day to listen to these words:
"The Lord is our God, the Lord alone."
Let us turn our minds and hearts to the Lord God, who is made present in word and sacrament at this Mass.
The foundation for the Christian life is unfolded for us in today's scriptures. From Deuteronomy we hear that we are called to love the Lord God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our strength. Jesus adds to this basis commandment. He tells us that we should love our neighbor as ourselves. As the sacred word is proclaimed, let us echo the words of the responsorial psalm:
"I love you, Lord; I love you, Lord, my strength."

We welcome to our Christian Community Adrian James U. Villanueva, child of Clifford and Cheryl, Kaden James Maldonado, child of Ruben and April, Kimberly and Riley Marie Franzen, children of Mark and Roberta. These children were baptised last weekend. We pray that God's blessings be with all of you and your families.

REGISTER RENEWAL AND SUBSCRIPTION

Extra copies of our diocesan newspaper is at all entrances of the church. If you are not a subscriber please pick up a paper and see hou our diocese is functioning. You may fill out the subscription information and place your check in an envelope, then put it in the collection basket or return to the parish office. It is worthwhile reading.

We extend our prayers and sympathy to the families of Donna Litney and Charles (Chuck) Schad, who passed away recently. May they rest in the arms of their creator.
