Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

St. Xavier Parish Home Page
The love of Christ draws us together today as we embark on a long journey through the Sundays of Ordinary Time. This journey begins today in a boat that is being tossed by stormy seas. The Lord Jesus calms those seas and calls us to greater faith. Let us begin this Mass with our eyes fixed firmly on the Lord in whom we put our faith.
We profess that God's word is living and active. It can change our hearts. Even when the seas of life churn and become stormy, God's word is a beacon leading us to calmer waters. Let us be attentive to God's saving word.
Father Al,
35 Years of Service
We would like to congratulate Father Al for his 35 years of serving God's people as a priest. We have been blessed to have him as our pastor at St. Xavier.
He has served our parish twice, once from 1973-1975 and again from 1997 to the present. We ask God to richly bless him as he continues to follow his calling as Christ's Representative.
We extend our sympathy & prayers to the families of David Junghans, Aaron Boyer, and Wilma Rowland. May they rest in the loving arms of their God for all eternity.

PRAYER AND ACTION
Coming to our parish soon is a diocesan youth work force that is on a mission of "PRAYER AND ACTION"! The group wants to serve the community by doing minor repairs, yard work, painting, etc for citizens in the greater Junction City area to include Milford, Wakefield, Chapman and White City. Preference will be given to those who are elderly, disabled or have a low income. The supplies, to include paint will be free of charge. The work force is made of senior high school youth under close adult supervision. There are two teams: one will be available to work from July 10-13 and the other from July 17-20. Please call 785-210-5006 or 210-7713 and ask for Kurt or Sandy or email us at kurtandsandy@earthlink.com. We need your name, address, number at which you can be contacted, and what help you need as soon as possible so we can order the supplies and plan our schedule.
The youth group will not only be working in the community but will be joining our parish for morning Mass and participating in prayer and group activities. If some of our senior high youth are interested and haven't signed up already, they may contact Sister Barbara Ellen at (785)927-8746 or bafbcs@salinadiocese.org
Please pray for the success of this mission.
We want to thank those of you who expressed interest in holding a summer Vaction Bible School at our parish, but there were not enough adults and children who could participate to make the the program workable. Hopefully next year we can start planning early and launch a successful program that will involve people of all ages and draw us closer as a community. This would fulfill two of the goals that people expressed in the Disciples in Mission survey -- more community events and outreach events to the youth.
Thanks, Kurt and Sandy Leistner.
